The organising team behind the International Festival of Athletics Coaching (IFAC) is thrilled to announce that Seb Coe has confirmed his attendance at the Festival in October.

Coe, who led the successful London 2012 bid, will be in Glasgow as a guest speaker at the Friday night Gala Dinner (30th October), as well as appearing on stage with Wilson Kipketer on Saturday 31st October.

A double Olympic champion and multiple world record holder, he is one of Great Britain's most successful athletes. He won gold in the 1500m and silver in the 800m at both the Moscow 1980 and Los Angeles 1984 Games, before retiring from competitive athletics in 1990.

Coe is currently a Vice President of the IAAF as well as being a non-executive member of the Board of Directors of England 2018 Ltd., the England World Cup bid committee.

Commenting on his involvement, he said: "I am delighted to have the opportunity to speak to coaches at the International Festival. They are the architects and organisers of performance excellence in the arena. Of course they prepare athletes for the sport, but, more importantly, they prepare athletes through the sport to live a better life and build a better world. I'm really looking forward to meeting you in Glasgow."

Festival Manager, Ewen Cameron added: "It is with great pleasure that we can confirm that Seb will join us in Glasgow for the International Festival. He is one of the finest athletes to have ever represented Great Britain and we are thrilled to have him as part of the weekend. His successful leadership of the London 2012 bid has inspired the British nation of and I am sure his involvement in the Festival will also inspire the coach delegates in attendance."

Remaining delegate places are limited with 350 delegates already registered for the Festival. For more information, please visit the event website at www.ifacscotland.co.uk or call the booking hotline on 00 44 (0) 131 476 7328.
