DALTON GRANT
HIGH JUMP LEGEND

Dalton is one of Great Britain’s finest high jumpers. He competed at the Seoul, Barcelona and Atlanta Olympic Games and is a European Champion and Commonwealth Games Gold medallist, and in 2008 equaled the world veteran record at Banska Bystrica, Slovakia.
Likeable and hugely talented, Dalton set nine successive national records between 1988 and 1991 and become the first Briton to be ranked in the world’s top 10 since Alan Paterson in 1950. Having narrowly missed a medal at the Seoul Olympics, he earned his greatest success a decade later taking the Commonwealth title in Kuala Lumpur and earning a European outdoor silver medal to add to the European indoor gold’s he had won in 1994.
A London 2012 Ambassador and from East End of London, Dalton is hugely excited about the positive changes that Olympics will bring about, not just in London, but beyond. Given his experience as an elite athlete and his personal journey, he is an enthralling person to hear speak, and now is even more in demand given his Hackney roots and the fast approaching London Games.
